Polish cellist Anna Mikulska and French-Spanish pianist Philippe Argenty form the Fortecello Duo, an artistic project born from the desire to bring together the music of their roots with their own sensibilities, through programs that have allowed them to travel from country to country, with special attention to Poland, Spain and France.

but also exploring new musical forms from a natural and close perspective.

Their concerts, striking for their diverse repertoire and virtuosic interpretation, reflect the solid training both musicians have received at some of Europe's most prestigious institutions, giving them an artistic vision that is both cosmopolitan and deeply human.

Since its formation in 2015, the duo has performed over 800 concerts in countries such as France, Spain, Italy, the United States, China, Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Slovakia, and Portugal, participating in prominent international festivals and seasons.

In addition to their chamber music, the Fortecello Duo has performed as soloists with the Perpignan Symphony Orchestra and the Atlantida Symphonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductors such as Manuel Tévar and Daniel Tosi.

His recordings, released on the KNS Classical and Gallo-Cascavelle labels, have been broadcast by the French national broadcaster France Musique and praised by international critics.

ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHIES

 

Anna Mikulska - Cello

Anna Mikulska–Argenty began her musical studies at the age of 7. In 2005, she entered the Academy of Music in Krakow, her hometown.

In 2007, he continued his training at the École Normale de Musique in Paris. He has received advice from leading cellists such as Anner Bylsma, Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, and many others.

Since 2005, he has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras such as the Krakow Young Philharmonic Orchestra and the Krakow Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.

Passionate about chamber music, she dedicates an essential part of her artistic activity to it, from the duo to the piano quintet.

He was a member of the Orchestra of Life, the personal orchestra of the great English violinist Nigel Kennedy, with whom he toured extensively and gave over 30 concerts in some of Europe's most prestigious venues: the Berlin Philharmonic, London's Royal Albert Hall, the Paris Congress Palaces, and the Cologne and Munich Philharmonics, among others.

Since arriving in France in 2009, he has regularly collaborated with various French orchestras such as the Limoges Orchestra and the Sanxay Lyrical Soirées Orchestra.

 

Philippe Argenty - Piano

Philippe Argenty entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Perpignan in 2002, and in 2003 he moved to Paris to devote himself entirely to the piano.

In 2005, after two years of intensive training, he entered the Liceu Conservatory of Music in Barcelona, where he studied with the great Russian pianist and pedagogue Stanislav Pochekin.

She earned her degree in Piano Performance in 2011, with the highest distinction, performing Franz Liszt's Second Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.

In 2005 he was awarded second prize at the Grand Concours International de Piano de Paris, held at the Salle Cortot.

Since 2004, he has performed in France, Norway, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Andorra, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland, participating in numerous international festivals and series.

In 2011 he toured as a soloist with the Orquesta Conjunt XXI, performing Liszt's Second Concerto.

Also passionate about chamber music, as pianist of the Fortecello Duo he regularly performs with violinists, singers, flautists, string quartets, saxophonists and wind quintets.
