
REGISTRATION II INTERNATIONAL SOLOISTS COMPETITION
Registration Guidelines
1. OBJECTIVE
In this edition, the 2nd International Soloists Competition, organized by the Aguere International Music Festival, aims to select the pianist who will perform Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninov with the Aguere Chamber Orchestra in the festival’s two closing concerts, scheduled for July 19 and 20, 2025, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife.
2. PARTICIPANTS
Pianists of all nationalities are eligible to participate, with no age limit.
3. APPLICATION

Applications must be submitted exclusively via the official email of the Aguere International Music Festival.

The application deadline is May 23.

The registration fee is €50.00.

Applicants must submit the following documents along with the registration form:

Proof of payment of the registration fee.

A link to a video recording of the first movement of Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninov for the selection phase.

The video may be recorded with orchestra or with second piano.

4. JURY
The jury will be composed of renowned musicians, the music director of the Aguere Chamber Orchestra, and the artistic director of the Aguere International Music Festival.
5. RESULTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE SELECTED SOLOIST
After reviewing all submitted videos, the organization will announce the name of the selected pianist before June 5, 2025, on the official channels of the Aguere International Music Festival.

The selected soloist will perform all movements of Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninov with the Aguere Chamber Orchestra during the festival’s two closing concerts:

July 19 at Espacio Mutua Tinerfeña

July 20 at San Bartolomé Church in Tejina

The soloist must attend all rehearsals with the Aguere Chamber Orchestra prior to the concerts and must be present on July 17 at 5:00 PM at the rehearsal venue provided by the organization.
6. ORCHESTRA SETUP
For both concerts, the reduced orchestral version will be performed, featuring 18 musicians:

7. PRIZES

The opportunity to perform Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Rachmaninov as a soloist with the Aguere Chamber Orchestra in the two closing concerts of the Aguere International Music Festival on July 19 and 20.

Professional video recording of the concerts.

A paid recital (€1,000.00) as part of the 2026 edition of the Aguere International Music Festival. The recital date will be determined according to the festival’s schedule.

A travel allowance of €200.00 for the selected soloist.

The organization will cover accommodation costs for the selected soloist in San Cristóbal de La Laguna during rehearsals and concert dates.

The organization will provide transportation between the hotel, rehearsal venues, and concert venues for the winning soloist.
8. IMAGE AND AUDIO RIGHTS
Participants authorize the Aguere International Music Festival to record their performance and use video and audio recordings of the concerts for promotional purposes, media distribution, and on the festival’s social media channels.
